Cannabis is a joy, it is for the healing of the nations and I have picked Spain as my current base of operations. With shows like Spanabis in late February in Barcelona with 20,000 people a day walking through the exhibition with nothing but cannabis friendly vibrations. Smoking a joint in public in the Barcelona area does not even get a dirty look, it is becoming quite acceptable.

The Netherlands likes to back America in Iraq. Spain pulled its troops out. I like Spain’s approach.

Catalonia legalized medical cannabis last week.

I have had medical strains growing here in the Netherlands for 10 years. Many of my genetics have been destroyed by Dutch police with no clue as to what they have taken away from the future. I am talking real medicine to heal the sick here.
In September 2004 my home in Amsterdam was raided for 11 outdoor plants that were on my rooftop garden. I was mostly using them for photo props as they would never finish well in this climate. They searched my entire dwelling, taking my computers and personal effects and treating me like a common criminal instead of a photographic-journalist who brings a heck of a lot of tourists to Holland.

So I decided to move.

Miraculously clones showed up in Spain that had come from my genetics and had survived in good health. To get them thriving we decided to go the organic aqua-ponic method. There is no better method of making strong mother-plants.

Being an organic cannabis grower I have always grown my mother plants and flowering plants in soil. I have never liked the way hydro-grown weed has tasted. I could always taste the food that was given to the plants. To me it was ornamental cannabis, beautiful to look at, covered in rich trichomes, good color, buds hard as rocks, but the taste was flat, chemically flavored. So I stayed away from hydro, that is until now.

There is a lot of research going on in the world of organic cannabis foods these days. It has finally become possible to grow in an organic hydro-system, using all the same organic foods that you would use on soil. It is known as bio-ponics.

Using Aqua systems for maintaining mother plants is the most efficient way of vegging mom’s. Due to the impressive root growth from the Aqua system, in 3-5 weeks you have a fully developed mother from a small clone. If pruned low and wide you are able to cut between 50 and 80 clones a week off of one mother alone. You don’t have to worry about watering every day, it’s very clean, you don’t need beds or soil, and you can place the system right on your hardwood floor if you wanted with no risk of flooding or damage. Much less bugs than soil, especially if you spray neem oil every two or three days.

When you first set up the system, make sure to properly wash the hydro rocks or else you’ll have heavy PH regulation to do. In the first 3 to 5 days of the system functioning you will have to put water into the bucket at a PH of 7, so once it goes through the rocks it will deposit back at about 5.5-5.8. After about a week things will regulate themselves and you can fill the reservoirs with a lower PH. You should check on the roots at least twice a week by lifting the top bucket and seeing how healthy the roots look. If you notice they are getting a little yellow, add some hydrogen peroxide ( oxygenated water) to the resevoir. As for nutrients, most people who use Aqua systems will use the hydroponic chemical nutrients that are normally sold with these systems.

That is not necessary anymore. As everyone knows I will only grow and smoke bio-organic medicinal grade marijuana, and therefore until very recently I would only grow and flower in soil. But now everyone can grow completely bio-organic cannabis hydroponically, using the Pure Blend or Pure Blend Pro nutrients from the Botanicaire line of products from American Agritech. It is the only real completely bio-organic nutrients made for hydroponic systems on the market. This opens a whole new era of super weed. All the aesthetics and yield of hydroponically grown cannabis with the flavour and pure clean high of organic cannabis, I call it Bioponics, what more can you want.
